I am thankful for my partner and my ever growing multi-national family. I am also thankful for the Addams Family movie.
Racialicious is live tweeting the Q&A with Russell Means about the Lakotah Nation, Thanksgiving and decolonization. The Q&A is also live at Al Jazeera’s stream.
From one of the very recent tweets:

This is important. Pepper spray should only ever be used to pacify a dangerous suspect. In this case it is being administered as a punishment, in clear violation of the 8th amendment and Article Five of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

A well-known Washington lobbying firm with links to the financial industry has proposed an $850,000 plan to take on Occupy Wall Street and politicians who might express sympathy for the protests, according to a memo obtained by the MSNBC program “Up w/ Chris Hayes.”
The proposal was written on the letterhead of the lobbying firm Clark Lytle Geduldig & Cranford and addressed to one of CLGC’s clients, the American Bankers Association.
CLGC’s memo proposes that the ABA pay CLGC $850,000 to conduct “opposition research” on Occupy Wall Street in order to construct “negative narratives” about the protests and allied politicians.

Dorli Rainer, the 84-year-old woman pepper sprayed at Occupy Seattle
Eighty-four-year-old activist Dorli Rainey tells Keith about her experience getting pepper-sprayed by the police during an Occupy Seattle demonstration and the need to take action and spread the word of the Occupy movement. She cites the advice of the late Catholic nun and activist Jackie Hudson to “take one more step out of your comfort zone” as an inspiration, saying, “It would be so easy to say, ‘Well I’m going to retire, I’m going to sit around, watch television or eat bonbons,’ but somebody’s got to keep ’em awake and let ’em know what is really going on in this world.”
